Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Here’s everything you need to know about the new iPhone models.

The company revealed an upgraded iPhone that, while aesthetically similar to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, has several big differences, including a pressure-sensitive home button, better camera, a faster processor and improved battery life, as well as having no headphone jack. Two new colour variant has been added i.e Black and Jet Black, unfortunately it is coming only in 128 GB and 256 GB variant. Black has replaced famous Space grey also.

The two new devices maintain the same aluminum body and don’t look a ton different than 2015’s iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. They even share the same respective screen sizes: a 4.7-inch display on the 7, and a 5.5-inch screen for the 7 Plus. The Plus sports a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, and its smaller brother packs 1,334 x 750 pixels. Both screens are 25 percent brighter than the 6S and display a wide color gamut.

For major update you’ll have to wait for next year’s model, As far this model is concerned it’s just look same as last year models, though some improvements has been made.

 Home Button

The home button is now solid state, which means you can’t physically press or click it in — kind of like the Motorola Moto Z and OnePlus 3. It’s pressure-sensitive, including “haptic feedback”, which just means that apps can give you three levels of pressure and haptic feedback, like a light or strong buzz. It doesn’t feel like a button and definitely takes getting used to, but so far it seems to get the job done.

Water Resistant

Both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are water- and dust-resistant (IP67), meaning you’re free to get them wet without worry. That means you’ll be able to take either of them underwater for about 30 minutes, up to 1 meter deep.

The camera has been improved to enhance low-light capabilities and take even sharper photos.

The iPhone 7 has a f/1.8 lens that lets 50 per cent more light onto the lens, a new 12MP sensor that’s 60 per cent faster and 30 per cent more energy efficient.

Apple iPhone 7 Plus has a dual-lens camera for better quality even when zooming in. The iPhone 7 Plus has two 12MP cameras, one of which is a wide angle lens and the other a telephoto lens that can zoom 2X in high quality without using any software. The telephoto lens means the camera can zoom to 10X with optical and soft zoom.

The front camera has also been upgraded to 7MP from 5MP for FaceTime and selfies.

Battery Life

Apple has kept battery life in mind while designing the new iPhone, new iPhone lasts 14 hours on WiFi and 12 hours on mobile data while iPhone 7 plus has slightly better performance, it lasts upto 15 hours on WiFi and

The models will have the longest battery life ever in an iPhone. An iPhone 7 lasts, on average, two hours longer than an iPhone 6s and an hour longer than iPhone 6s Plus.

The battery on the iPhone 7 lasts 14 hours when using WiFi and 12 on 4G. The iPhone 7 Plus meanwhile lasts 15 hours on WiFi and 13 on 4G.

This could be the new reason for consumers to buy iPhones, previously they were holding their horses back for.

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus utilize Apple’s most powerful processor ever — the A10 Fusion. It’s a 64-bit quad-core processor that’s 40 percent faster than the A9 in the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Apple says it’s 120 times faster than the original iPhone.

The processor also improves the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus’ graphics — it’s 50 percent faster than the A9. The 7 also comes with 2GB of RAM, whereas the 7 Plus offers 3GB.

Apple has ditched the 16GB variant not only in iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus but also in iPhone 6, iPhone 6 plus and iPhone SE.
